Tenant wishes to withdraw

If multiple tenants are registered on the lease agreement and one of them wishes to move out, the tenant may apply to withdraw from the lease.

The remaining tenant has the right to continue the tenancy if you have been married and are now divorced/separated, or if you have lived together for at least 2 years immediately before one of you moves out.

In all other cases, the landlord’s consent is required for one tenant to withdraw from the lease.

Please note that deposits, prepaid rent, and on-account payments related to utility accounts will remain unchanged as funds held by the landlord. The tenant who continues to live in the apartment will assume all rights to any refunds and all obligations regarding any additional payments.

Any settlement or reimbursement between the withdrawing tenant and the remaining tenant is of no concern to the landlord.

Please complete and submit the application for withdrawal. If we are able to accommodate your request, we will send an addendum to your lease agreement, which both of you must sign.

Please be aware that the remaining tenant will be charged a fee for the addendum to the lease agreement. You can find our fee list here.
