Resident in a Housing Cooperative
Congratulations on your new cooperative housing. We hope you will be happy with it and enjoy life in the new area. We will certainly do our best to ensure this. On this page, we provide you with the necessary information to prepare you for moving in.
When you take over your cooperative housing, it's important to be thorough and meticulous. We recommend that you go through the flat with the vendor to ensure that everything is in order. Here are some things you should pay attention to:
Check the installations and make sure everything is working correctly
Test major appliances, toilets, taps, showers, etc
Examine windows and doors for any issues, and check that the locks are functioning as they should
Verify that everything else is as agreed upon in the transfer agreement
It's a good idea to create a list of any deficiencies, which both you and the vendor can sign. Also, take pictures as documentation if it becomes necessary.
You and the vendor should jointly read the water, heating, and electricity meters. You are responsible for taking over the agreement with the electricity company. We will contact the utility companies regarding water and heating, and in this context, you need to ensure that we receive the meter readings.
Make sure the vendor provides you with all the keys to the property and the housing unit. It's important to get this sorted. Also, remember to register your housing fee payment with the Direct Debit system (PBS) to avoid extra costs and issues due to missed payments.
It's important that you arrange for contents insurance to cover your personal belongings. If you want to know more about contents insurance, you should contact your insurance company. The property is insured by the housing cooperative. We are here to assist you, so feel free to contact us if you have any questions or need further assistance.
