DEAS uses MitID for digital signatures
DEAS uses MitID for digital signatures on a range of documents and to digitally verify your identity.
Everything takes place online, allowing you to both sign documents and confirm your identity using MitID, which is easy, fast, and secure. You can sign documents using a PC, tablet, or smartphone, as long as you have internet access, even if you are abroad. We use the company Penneo™ to handle signatures and identity verification. Therefore, Penneo™ may appear in certain communications between you and us.
When using digital signatures
You will receive an email from DEAS containing a link to a secure website where you can view, download, and review the documents and sign them with your MitID.
Once all parties have signed, you will receive an email with the signed documents in PDF format.
Acceptance of registered information
When you digitally sign with your MitID, you simultaneously give consent for us to record the following information, which will also be visually displayed on the signed documents:
Your full name as registered with the used MitID.
A PID, which is a code issued by MitID, enabling the matching of the used MitID with a CPR number if validation of the signatory is needed.
Time zone and IP address of the PC/device you are using. This information will be visible to those who receive the document.
If you have only confirmed your identity digitally, the information will only be accessible to select individuals at DEAS.
When confirming your identity
You will receive an email from DEAS containing a link to a secure website where you will need to provide your full name and CPR number.
Afterward, you will identify yourself by logging in with your MitID. The information you enter will be compared with your data in the CPR register and the national population register to confirm your identity.
You will not need to send a copy of your passport, driver's license, or health insurance card or fill out a form signed by multiple witnesses.
If you are protected by name and address confidentiality in the CPR register, we cannot digitally confirm your identity. In that case, you will need to fill out a paper form and send it to DEAS along with a copy of your passport or driver's license.
Do I need to do anything differently with my MitID to sign? No, you sign or identify yourself the same way you log in with your MitID, such as in online banking.
Do I need to print and sign the documents with a pen? No, the digital signature with MitID replaces pen signatures. If you print a digitally signed document, the paper version is not legally valid since a specific hidden code in the document cannot be verified.
How can I confirm that I have signed? Once your digital signature is successfully completed, Penneo™ will notify you immediately via email.
How do I receive the documents once they are signed? You will receive all documents and attachments in an email when all parties have signed.
How can I see who has signed digitally? On the last page of the signed documents, you can see who has signed digitally. The signed documents also have a hidden code used to verify the document's authenticity and the signatories.
What happens if I lose my signed documents? If, for example, you accidentally delete the email containing the signed documents, you can always retrieve them by logging in with MitID on Penneo.com, where you have access to your private archive.
